Hodgenville October 9th 2003

Saturday morning 15 Abe's and 6 Mary's converged on Hodgenville, the weather was great, the crowd was large. The Mary's had four contestants, only one a member of the ALP. Edna Rubin was reluctantly a contestant in the contest. I do not have the names of the ladies that won, however one has an interest in becoming a member of the ALP.
The Abraham contest had ten contestants with Jim Conine taking first place {his third time}, David Kreutz second, and Joe Hamilton third. Attending but not in contest were B.F. McClerren, Jim Hitchcock, Dennis Boggs, Jim Rubin, and myself. There are three people that may want to join the ALP, one from Tennessee, one from Kentucky , and one from Illinois. I shall keep you informed on any progress on these potentinal members. During the judging on the Abrahams we had a tribute to Bill Sublett, A few words and there was silence on the square of Hodgenville in his memory. Beulah and two of his daughters were also present.
